Austin Thomas

Austin Thomas is a meteorologist and energy systems modeler with experience in modeling renewable energy generation, energy system decarbonization pathways, and North American power markets. Dr. Thomas previously worked for AFRY Management Consulting where he contributed to a wide variety of client projects across North America and Europe. During his academic career, Dr. Thomas conducted research on topics including atmospheric radiation budgets, wind and solar PV generation modeling, and land-use change impacts. At REsurety, Austin is expanding the company’s power price analytics capabilities with a focus on PJM, New York ISO, and ISO New England.
Dr. Thomas holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont, a Master’s degree in Applied Meteorology from the University of Reading, and a Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
