Webinar recap and replay: Market Intelligence Reports

Resurety

Our June 18th webinar gave a sneak-peek behind the curtain of CleanSight Reports and dashboards.

Resurety’s Raul Dary and Dr. Jennifer Newman discuss our ERCOT Curtailment Lens dashboard that allows you to visualize curtailment risks across geography, fuel type, and time.

The clean energy market has evolved into a multi-billion dollar commodity market. Driven by regulatory shifts and an increase in data center load growth, it is evolving at a pace that traditional, slow-moving market analysis cannot match.

In our recent webinar, "Market Intelligence Reports," Resurety’s Raul Dary (VP, Customer Experience) and Dr. Jennifer Newman (Senior Principal Research Scientist) broke down real, vetted market data based on a series of reports and interactive dashboards. These tools were designed to help buyers, developers, and investors maximize decision-making efficiency rather than losing time on fragmented data.

We’ve realized that the players in the industry need actionable insights. They need immediate, up-to-date data in order to make multi-million dollar decisions and they need to be able to make them with confidence.

Resurety’s new intelligence reports combine massive public and proprietary datasets with expert analysis. Instead of scanning an endless amount of PDFs, users can manipulate data through custom geographic filtering and dynamic pivot tables to optimize workflows. The result? An executive-level analysis ready for presentation in 15 minutes. As Raul Dary puts it, “[We prepare the] analysis [for you to] take to the board, CFO, or share it with other colleagues in order to move the business forward."

Foundational reports

In Q2, Resurety released three core reports and dashboards to tackle distinct challenges in the market.

  • State of the Market for Clean Power Offtake: Includes live bid and offer data directly from Resurety’s CFTC-regulated CleanTrade platform that delivers a baseline of fair market value, helping to protect corporate off-takers from overpayment.
  • ERCOT Curtailment Lens: Tracks and analyzes wind and solar energy curtailment across the Texas grid. It provides asset-level data from hundreds of projects to visualize curtailment risks based on geography, fuel type, and local transmission congestion.
  • Evolution of the PPA: Pulling from nearly 1,000 PPA contracts, in addition to live CleanTrade bid and offer data and Resurety’s Weather-Smart forecasts, this analysis effectively assesses where the PPA market has been and where it is heading - and importantly, how changing wind and solar value in different markets will impact PPA pricing. (Check out Dr. Jennifer Newman’s blog on this specific report here.)

Reports are designed to act as a strategic starting point for a broader data workflow, serving as a hub or compass…if there is a certain insight or trend that’s relevant for your company or portfolio, you can then go to other software products on CleanSight to dig in deeper,

Deep dive: key insights from the dashboards

  • The rise of the operational PPA market: A massive wave of legacy wind and solar PPA contracts is scheduled to expire over the next few years, creating a robust "operational market" for clean energy procurement. For buyers, this operational asset class introduces a distinct strategic advantage: while purchasing from an existing project does not provide the "additionality" of a new greenfield build, it delivers a fast-to-execute contract that can trade at a lower relative cost.
  • The ERCOT cannibalization inverse: In power markets with high renewable penetration, a "cannibalization effect" occurs when an overabundance of a single generation source floods the grid, suppressing wholesale power prices during its peak production hours. As a result, the as-generated value of solar in ERCOT has declined over the last few years, which will likely serve to drive solar PPA prices downward. Conversely, this low-cost midday solar is shifting peak electricity prices into the evening hours, which can lead to an increase in wind value.

The ultimate takeaway from the discussion is clear: a mature market demands real-time data. Clean energy has officially transformed into a fast-moving, established market, and relying on outdated data is not a viable option when evaluating high-stakes market positions. Navigating today’s grid requires immediate, verified data that has been fully contextualized by our experts.
